StellerSteps is a student-led initiative, built by students, for students. It exists to bridge the gap between high school students in India who want to do meaningful research and the resources, mentorship, and exposure they need to actually do it. By connecting schools, universities, nonprofits, and passionate individuals, StellerSteps is building a research ecosystem where curiosity, not access or connections, determines who gets to explore, question, and create knowledge across every discipline.
Research remains one of the least visible pathways for students in India. Long before many discover what genuinely excites them, conventional career routes often become the only ones they know. Questions that deserve exploration gradually give way to predefined destinations, not because curiosity disappears, but because opportunities to pursue it rarely appear early enough. The challenge extends beyond access. Many schools and education organizations recognize the value of research but lack the structure, network, or resources to introduce it meaningfully. At the same time, countless students with remarkable ideas never find the community or guidance needed to pursue them. We believe research should be something students encounter while they are still discovering themselves, not years after those questions first begin.
